Authentic Indian cuisine makes its way to the Gold Coast

A lot of Indian food here on the Gold Coast is takeout, perfect for quick dinners or lunch in a rush. What we lacked was a classy dinner location featuring rich Indian cuisine prepared by internationally celebrated star chefs… until now. Kokum by Chef Moral is a newly opened Indian restaurant located inside Palazzo Versace on the Marina Mirage waterfront. The restaurant embraces traditional Indian techniques and chefs, Manjunath Mural and Sridhar Penumechu, put a twist on their dishes by incorporating handpicked local Australian ingredients.


The piquant cuisine provided by the restaurant is perfect for food lovers with a refined palate and is ideal for a special occasion of any kind. Dishes consist of spices such as saffron, turmeric, cardamom, cumin and nutmeg mixed with seafood, meat and vegetables to provide an authentic Indian experience right here on the Gold Coast that is difficult to find elsewhere. You can expect to see dishes like Mangalorean bugs, Kashmari shank and Murg massalam, and even some traditional sweet treats like Garam pudding with beetroot and dried figs and Saffron cheesecake. The wine, cocktail and beer list has also been carefully curated to compliment the selection of dishes available in order to provide exotic spice and flavour within a relaxed yet elegant setting.


The stunning view accompanied by the rich cultural heritage that the cuisine offers provides a fine dining experience perfect for a leisurely lunch or dinner; and with 150 seats, you don’t have to worry about missing out. Hail, rain or shine, there will still be seating available thanks to the sophisticated indoor and outdoor dining. Kokum is perfect for creating a memorable meal with family or friends whilst the sun sets on the water beside you.
