Hello fashionistas!
Spring racing… do this in style! Dress for your body shape, and love what you have — TODAY!
Familiarise yourself with each raceday’s dress code before planning your outfit and attending.
For example, Derby Day calls for black and white (it is a strict colour free day), while you can embrace block colours and unique design details for Melbourne Cup Day. A block colour means you can go nuts with headwear, bags and shoes (my pick for this would be a fabulous jumpsuit).
Remember to keep hemlines on or below the knee, and choose silhouettes with sleek, simplistic lines that shape and drape your gorgeous lines.
Most importantly: dress to suit your shape and personality!
Bottom heavy: pear shape
Look for an A-line shape in dark shades, or with a small pattern, that just drapes across possibly the widest part of your body. You can have a party from the waist up though; use patterns, full sleeves and wider necklines to balance your hip area.

Top heavy: inverted triangle or rectangle
Ladies, keep your necklines close, and opt for a set-in sleeve and show some skin — not too much though! Create some volume from the waist down to add balance to a wide shoulder. Straight up and down: rectangle My shape. I got the IKEA flat-pack: straight up and down, with no bottom! Look for waist creation, draping and angles. A full skirt and fitted top will give the illusion of a waist… and vice versa.
Dangerous curves: hourglass
What we all wouldn’t give for these dimensions! Because your top will be the same size as your bottom, you have a small window of opportunity to create a waist. Do not wear anything boxy! Keep things in proportion and sexy.

Round or oval
Look at your best feature. Your shape is made for an empire line (especially with a higher waist); use angles and layers to give the illusion of a waist. It’s all smoke and mirrors! See you at the track!

Stay stylish.
